Grupo Bondi has developed a unique and visually captivating technique for manufacturing concrete furniture. Through a groundbreaking process combining molds, materials, colors and textures, the design studio creates concrete furniture that strongly resembles fabric cushions. The Ovni Almohadoncito Concrete Stool is made from reinforced concrete and featured anodized aluminum for buttons and water drains. The stool’s legs are made from coated steel rebar. The piece itself has a total weight of 16kg.
The title of the piece itself even demonstrates creative wordplay in that the translation of the Spanish word almohadoncito is “little (or cute) cushion.” The Spanish word ovni refers to “UFO.”
