Intrinsic ID CEO Pim Tuyls to Speak on IoT Security at 15th International SoC Conference October 19
SUNNYVALE, Calif. (PRWEB) October 16, 2017 -- Intrinsic ID®, the world’s leading provider of digital authentication technology for Internet of Things security and embedded applications, today announced Chief Executive Officer Pim Tuyls will appear at the 15th International System-on-Chip (SoC) Conference, Exhibit & Workshops, to be held October 18-19 at the University of California, Irvine. He will deliver a presentation entitled “Authenticate Everything” and appear on a panel entitled “Security Issues and Challenges in The Next Generation of SoCs & IoT Solutions."
“The Internet of Things growth continues to accelerate, and our International SoC Conference is a great forum for examining how IoT and its security-related challenges affect the way we gather data and use it in almost everything that we do,” said Farhad Mafie, SoC Conference chairman and president and CEO of Savant Company, Inc. “I am very excited that we are able to hear from security experts and leaders such as Pim on how Intrinsic ID and other leading companies are addressing IoT security challenges in various applications via their individual talks as well as in an informative panel discussion that will be held on the same day.”
WHAT:
In his presentation entitled “Authenticate Everything,” Tuyls will address how, as the Internet of Things approaches 50 billion devices with no slowing in sight, the flexibility to protect IoT devices at any point in the supply chain comes at an increasingly high cost because of limitations in traditional key delivery methods. In contrast, an SRAM-PUF-based approach offers flexibility and reduced cost without compromising security because, unlike traditional methods, with SRAM PUF-based key generation the root keys never leave the chip itself. This approach enables not only security management, but the flexibility to invoke that security in IoT endpoints at any point in the supply chain, at a cost appropriate to the use case.
Tuyls will also appear as part of the panel discussion “Security Issues and Challenges in The Next Generation of SoCs & IoT Solutions." Other panelists will be Marc Canel, vice president, Security Technologies for Arm; and Louis Parks, president and CEO of SecureRF. The panel will be moderated by SoC Conference Chairman Farhad Mafie. Details about the conference are available online at the conference website.

WHO:
Pim Tuyls is CEO of Intrinsic ID, a company specializing in IoT security technology. Before founding Intrinsic ID in 2008 he was at Philips Research, where he was Principal Scientist and managed the cryptography cluster. While there he initiated the work on Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs), which forms the basis of Intrinsic ID’s silicon fingerprinting technology. Tuyls has a Ph.D. in mathematical physics from Leuven University, holds more than 50 patents and is widely acknowledged for his work in the field of security for embedded applications.
About Intrinsic ID
Intrinsic ID is the world’s leading digital authentication company for the Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded applications. It is the inventor of SRAM Physical Unclonable Function, or SRAM PUF, leveraging manufacturing variations in semiconductors to create unique IDs and keys to authenticate chips, data, devices and systems. Through its flexibility, scalability and low implementation cost, Intrinsic ID products address the security needs of the fast-growing IoT market. Its solutions are used to validate payment systems, secure connectivity, authenticate sensors, and protect sensitive government and military data and systems. Intrinsic ID’s award recognition includes the EU 2016 Innovation Radar Prize, which honors high-potential innovations and innovators in EU-funded research. Intrinsic ID’s SRAM PUF technology has been proven in millions of devices and in products that have passed certification by Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL6+), EMVCo, Visa and multiple governments.
