Introducing Guru, a digital creative agency empowering campaigns for sustainable companies
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 04, 2015 -- This month we are proud to officially launch, Guru, headquartered in the heart of San Francisco’s trendiest neighborhood and setting the stage for a new type of agency. The concept for Guru sprouted when founder, Jared Levy, envisioned a purpose-driven digital advertising and marketing agency with the intention of partnering with socially responsible companies and organizations, leading empowering campaigns and brand experiences. Levy’s new business endeavor is more than just an agency, but a collaboration of passionate professionals who can power brand movements.
How does Guru define a movement? It can be led by a visionary or vision; a person or product; or a solution to an opportunity. It is opposite of doing things because “that’s how they’re done.” It is a refusal of stagnation and an advocate of evolution. It is a fair trade clothing company leading a movement for sustainable fashion. It is a community shifting significant investment dollars into socially responsible opportunities. It is an agency that innovates to deliver an experience; an agency dedicated to working only with purpose-driven organization. It is an agency that believes in a new way of empowering clients to create value for those whom they serve.
Guru was founded after Levy and previous partners sold Neighbor Agency to Zealot Networks. Zealot is owned by Danny Zappin, former owner of the behemoth multi-channel network Maker Studios, which sold to Disney in 2014 for $600M. The end of an era ignited the launch of a new endeavor and Guru was born. With over 10 years of experience in the industry, Levy has developed groundbreaking digital marketing strategies and campaigns for a diverse range of clientele including California Pizza Kitchen, Jamba Juice, Tillamook, Lucerne Foods, among others. Levy is recognized as a leader in digital marketing and is regularly invited to speak at large corporate events and universities.
Guru’s recent campaigns illustrate the agency’s success including the partnership with the Motion Picture Association of America to launch WhereToWatch.com, a free search engine which generates a list of platforms that offer viewing, purchase, rental or subscription access for any film or TV show. The campaign secured press coverage in 90 plus publications and received over 250m+ impressions and launched a major social media activations that garnered over 30m+ impressions.
Guru also partnered with See Political, a campaign promoting a series of engaging video content to educate, empower and entertain California voters on current voting issues. The results showcase extensive press coverage on TV broadcast, radio and print; tallying astonishing 30m+ impressions. The successfulness of the campaign has inspired the backers of See Political to expand service to additional states where they hope to educate a larger population of voters throughout the US.
Levy’s true passion for developing campaigns for purpose-driven has grown into an ambitious team of Gurus who are passionate and love what they do. The Guru team is compromised of brand strategists, creative minds, lovers of socially conscious companies and visionaries who share the same passion; empowering clients and igniting new ideas for purpose-driven movements. Guru is currently spearheading on a number of meaningful campaigns and social engagement activations with a number of clients including; MPAA, 1% For The Planet, Echoing Green, See Political, Social Venture Network, Digital Detox and Green Toys.
