Introducing Happiness into Chaos: Chris Kay Announces Speaking Engagements
Scottsdale, Arizona (PRWEB) February 11, 2015 -- According to a report unveiled by Huffington Post in 2013, only one in three people are “very happy.” The survey went on to show a general decline in optimism with a strong downward turn amongst recent graduates, minorities and the disabled. Often tied directly to economics, the Happiness Index shows that being happy hasn’t necessarily come back with an improvement in the economy.
Chris Kay believes that there are two large reasons why people aren’t happier in today’s environment.
“For myself and many people I have worked with, I’ve found that there are two major factors that drag down happiness,” says Kay. “You’re either too busy to find enjoyment or too uncertain about what will bring you enjoyment.”
Kay owns an online marketing company, a designer jeans company, and investment business and still makes time for music, filmmaking, fitness and family. No stranger to the constant battle of busyness and happiness, Kay is now interested in helping others find contentment even when life feels chaotic.
During speaking engagements or lectures, he is able to talk through long-term tips for happiness, but there are also “quick fixes" he encourages:
1. Energize – Busy people often feel unable to exercise and sometimes that’s true. Energizing however, can be done in ten minutes or less and have major impact on an individual’s mood. Pacing while on the phone, taking a walk outside or simply infusing energetic tones into conversation can increase endorphins.
2. Connect – With social media, people are connected all the time, but don’t necessarily feel a connection. Instead of skimming a Facebook timeline, Kay suggests actually reaching out to a friend or relative.
“Having close bonds with other people is one of the most important keys to happiness,” says Kay.
3. Accomplish – Stress, anxiety and failure are undeniable enemies of happiness, but ridding those emotions entirely are impossible. Instead, joy can be found in completing one task or doing one good deed. Small accomplishments done daily can lead to overall contentment.
