Edinburgh, United Kingdom (PRWEB) September 23, 2014 -- Edinburgh based Interassets Ltd has just launched it's BETA version of music streaming service Songs.io. The website provides a Spotify like experience, but completely browser based and completely free.
The company say's their technology makes use of the Last.fm public API (the algorithm that organizes music like Spotify or Rdio) to organize and display music streamed from YouTube videos. The inclusion of user based playlists and a radio feature which plays a selection of songs based on the song you choose - makes the experience feel a lot like Spotify or iTunes service.
The technology gives Songs.io's users access to a huge library of music - which can be browsed, enjoyed, organized, explored and shared with friends and family, across virtually any web enabled device.
Talking about the technology, founder of Songs.io, Kyle Hill say's "I'm exceptionally proud of what Songs.io has become, it's literally exactly as I'd imagined it - but better. I see a really positive future for this website and can't wait to see people using our service."
The company is hoping to run songs.io as a free, non-profit service.
A statement from the company reads;
"Our technology makes use of free technology publicly available, so we won't ever be charging our users for the privilege of listening to music via our app. Songs.io core focus isn't making money, it's focus is delivering the gift of an exceptional music listening experience to the world."
Although the platform is currently Ad-free, the company has suggested that it may look into introducing unobtrusive advertising when the operating costs demand it.
"We want to keep Songs.io as simple and clutter-free as possible. However, the costs of running our service would be unsustainable without some form of revenue. We aim to make sure the advertising is ethical and does not deteriorate our world-class user interface."
