Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 28, 2016 -- The Paramount Academy of Music (PAM) will celebrate its grand opening this Saturday, January 30, at 2139 Pontius Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90025 from 12:00-7:00PM.
When Paramount Academy of Music co-founders Marisa and Roger Gariano and Carl Restivo decided to launch this school they knew what they wanted it to emphasize the creative aspect of music education, so as to attract motivated kids who truly wanted to get a well-rounded musical experience. They had to have a passion for music and a desire to achieve.
Co-founder and Musical Director Carl Restivo is a musician’s musician. His list of credits (Wyclef Jean, Perry Farrell, Tom Morello, Wayne Kramer, Jackson Browne) speaks for themselves. And while his technical prowess is impressive, it’s his passion as a performer that has earned him respect and invitations to perform at all kinds of venues from stages to stadiums, from broadcast TV to special events. But in addition to his incredible musical abilities, Restivo has an equally impressive music business background having helped launch one of the most recognizable music schools in the country. As that school grew, he knew something was missing. There were holes to fill in creating extraordinary music education.
Conversations with the Gariano’s let Carl know he found kindred spirits. They had a daughter who loved music but didn’t quite get what she wanted from her music school. The three founders were passionate music people who know that music is about connecting. It took nearly two years but they collectively assembled the Signature PAM Young Musicians Total Music Curriculum. This unique program focuses on creating the complete musician: not someone merely with technical skills, but one who knows how to write a song, perform well, and connect with an audience.
The facility itself is a gorgeous, state-of-the-art complex featuring an impressive performing stage and fully equipped rehearsal rooms. Each rehearsal room contains Apogee recording equipment, enabling instructors to record practice sessions so that students have something better than written notes to work with. And of course, instructors are professional musicians and top-notch teachers who simply love to teach. In addition the school will be announcing a scholarship program to make certain that no child is turned away because their parents cannot afford to send them to PAM.
With public schools cutting arts programs, The Paramount Academy of Music hopes to fill the void in a student’s general education, and is open to enrollment for the student who wants to become a musical star as well as the student who simply loves music.
