Introducing Type Network: A New Model for Type Design, Development, and Licensing
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 06, 2016 -- Type Network launches, offering a new model for type design, development, and licensing in all formats, including for the web. Type Network was formed in response to the increasingly complex needs of type designers and type users.

The Type Network website uses advanced responsiveness in font widths, weights, and optical sizes. This innovative system generates type specimens on the fly across an infinite array of resolutions to assist designers working across a growing target of layouts and screen sizes.
“Type Network’s web developers, editors, marketing experts, and business group have together envisioned and made a site for the 21st century,” said Sam Berlow, president of Type Network.
This new source for typefaces is the effort of ten digital type foundries, including Font Bureau, Matthew Carter’s Carter & Cone, Petr van Blokland’s Typetr, and Cyrus Highsmith’s Occupant Fonts.
Font Bureau’s well-known designers are establishing their own brands on the site: David Jonathan Ross with DJR, Richard Lipton with Lipton Letter Design, and Victoria Rushton. Two longtime contributors to the Font Bureau library, Zavier Cabarga and Greg Thompson, are joining the new venture. Additional foundry partners are expected to join in coming months.
“Type Network’s goal is to be the destination for designers of all kinds who want the best fonts—offered directly by type designers,” David Berlow said.
Type Network is a private company, with type designers having majority ownership—and control—ensuring that the company’s strategy aligns with its mission: to find the best designers and to promote and publish their work.
