Intuitive Surgical Claims More Than 50% Savings Using Open Source EDC ClinCapture

Intuitive Surgical was looking for an EDC tool to use for working with surgeons to collect data for clinical studies. They needed a cost-efficient solution that they could easily deploy for their several small-sized phase IV studies. Mark Burns followed a comprehensive study builder training on ClinCapture and Clinovo validated the EDC system on Intuitive Surgical’s servers. It allowed Intuitive Surgical to build their own studies, create electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs) and configure the system in-house, bringing cost significantly down.
“Clinovo developed and validated the first instance of ClinCapture, then our trained team repeated the process for 14 more studies without that initial cost factor,” states Mark Burns. “ClinCapture saved us a lot of money, at least 50%, probably significantly more.”
