InventHelp Inventors Develop PEG Tube Accessory (LAN-162)
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) December 20, 2013 -- "As someone who is fitted with a PEG tube, I know how hard it can be to just leave the house some days because I worry about having to change dressings or tubing coming loose," said one of two inventors from New Port, Pa. "In order to make my life more independent and free, we developed this."
They developed BEV'S PEG TUBE PROTECTOR to enable an individual fitted with a PEG tube to be out and about. The device effectively holds medical tubing in place. The accessory saves the individual from being confined to the house.
It enables the individual to go shopping, visit parks, go places with the family, even ride motorcycles. The invention ensures that the unit is getting fresh air, reducing the risk of infection. The design replaces the use of gauze, which quickly requires replacement and is not reusable. Additionally, the unit is usable under clothing to remain inconspicuous.
The original design was submitted to the Lancaster office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
