InventionShare Announces Circuit Seed Family of Circuits Can Convert Analog Circuits to Digital Designs for Breakthrough Benefits to the IoT and Other Markets
Ottawa, Canada (PRWEB) December 08, 2015 -- Greg Waite, CEO of InventionShare, announced today that the Circuit Seed™ family of circuits can solve major problems with mixed signal integrated circuits for IoT device manufacturing, allowing companies to design new circuits faster and cheaper. The circuits make possible all kinds of new combinations, as well as dramatic reductions in size, complexity and power. There will also be meaningful design time reductions, reducing design risk and decreasing time to market.
Mr. Waite said that the Circuit Seed family digital circuit designs are attracting attention from parts and electronic equipment manufacturers, analog semiconductor manufacturers, circuit design companies and circuit manufacturers as well as companies designing new products for the IoT market. You don’t get just one or two benefits with Circuit Seed - you get a number of them simultaneously with few, if any, trade-offs.
Circuit Seed designs have been instrumental in solving a lot of analog in digital design problems. Until now, most products require an analog interface and are usually implemented as a mix of analog and digital circuits, with components for both. Analog components are typically 20% of the overall circuit. However, the analog design takes 80% of the time to design and takes two to three times longer to debug. Analog circuits also often require matched pairs of devices with identical electrical properties but there is always some process variation between the devices which causes errors. The mixed signal (analog and digital) integrated circuits cannot perform on smaller than 28nm process nodes, and they can’t operate at low power without severe limitations. New IoT circuit designs require the power of analog but need to use less real estate on a wafer.
By contrast, Circuit Seed circuit designs process analog signals using 100% digital components which means they are subject only to the limitations of digital design rules and not analog design rules. Further, the principles of the Circuit Seed design and the configuration of the circuits overcome many of the deficiencies of analog circuits. Mixed signal circuits requires the signal to travel off the integrated circuit to external analog components (a transistor, capacitor or an inductor) and then back to the digital process. But Circuit Seed circuits, once converted from analog to digital, remain on the integrated circuit eliminating many of the analog circuit issues. Since they are reusable, designers don't need to start each project from scratch; they can duplicate designs across a number of applications.
Companies are now realizing that deciding to produce smaller, more efficient circuits presents serious design challenges, many of which Circuit Seed can solve. Circuit Seed circuits are simpler, faster and less expensive to design, test, manufacture and support. They have a wide frequency range making them suitable for many applications; they occupy less real estate, reducing physical size and weight; they consume less power, reducing heat and enhancing reliability while reducing battery size or extending battery life.
Mr. Waite said, “We are beginning to field enquiries from companies starting to experience major problems with mixed signal integrated circuits including parasitic issues, limited dynamic range and resolution. We are working with these companies, helping them with Circuit Seed solutions which they now see as a perfect fit.”
InventionShare is looking to partner with companies that are currently using traditional analog design processes and looking to for a better design, lower cost process for analog circuits.
