Inventor Develops Storm Shelter Alert System (OLC-227)
PITTSBURGH, Pa. (PRWEB) October 24, 2017 -- An inventor from Oklahoma City, Okla., has developed the patent-pending Shelter Alert, a new type of accessory for a storm shelter or safe room.
"I was inspired by my friend's children, who were playing in her storm shelter. I realized an alert system could be developed for the purpose of both rescue missions in the aftermath of a disaster, as well as when children are playing in it," said the inventor. The Shelter Alert provides an external alert so as to facilitate rescue. It reduces response times, thereby increasing the survival chances of the occupants inside. It may even help locate an inquisitive child trapped within, outside of emergency conditions. Ultimately, this accessory will provide peace of mind for people in disaster-prone regions.
In addition, a similar alert system can be added to vehicles, providing immediate notification when a vehicle is disabled, especially in remote locations.
The original design was submitted to the Oklahoma City office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
