Inventor from InventHelp Develops Safe Driving System (KPD-115)
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) September 19, 2013 -- Nearly 17,000 people were killed in automobile accidents in 2005 because they ran off the road or otherwise failed to stay in their proper lane. This simple miscalculation on the part of the driver was the number-one cause of fatal crashes, accounting for 28% of all fatal accidents. Studies have show that a one-second increase in driver reaction time could eliminate 90% of accidents.
To this end, an inventor from Downingtown, Pa., developed the ALIGN-N-DRIVE system. The invention is patented, and there are product samples available.
The system creates visual wheel path awareness. This reduces wheel wander. The invention aids the driver in avoiding hazardous situations. It is designed to enhance roadway safety by reducing the incidence of accidents. In addition, the system is adaptable for use in any vehicle.
The invention consists of a pair of visual aids mounted on either side of the windshield. The accessories can glow in the dark for nighttime visibility.
The inventor's interest in improving roadway safety inspired his idea. "I believe that visual misalignment accounts for 5% of vehicle accidents and an even higher percentage of tractor-trailer accidents," he said. "I came up with this idea to help motorists visualize their vehicle's wheel path so that they drive safer."
The original design was submitted to the King of Prussia office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
