Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 15, 2014 -- Invitation Homes today announced the appointment of Bryce Blair as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and John Bartling as President and Chief Executive Officer of Invitation Homes, effective November 3, 2014. Blair is the former Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of AvalonBay Communities and currently serves on the Board of Pulte and Regency Centers. Bartling served as a Senior Partner and on the Management Committee of Ares Management, LP. Nick Gould, a co-founder and major investor in the company who has served as CEO since 2012, has been named Vice Chairman of the Board.

John Bartling has been with Ares Management LP since 2010 as a Senior Partner and Global Co-Head of Real Estate. He has a long history leading residential and multifamily companies including AllBridge Investment; WMC Management Company, a privately held company with clients including Olympus Real Estate Partners; Arnold Palmer Golf Management; Walden Residential, a company with approximately 45,000 mulitfamily units, and Hyphen Solutions. Bartling previously served as CEO and President for Lexford, which was sold to Equity Residential in 1999. Bartling received a B.S. in marketing from Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Bryce Blair joined AvalonBay in 1993 and served as Chief Executive Officer from 2001 thru 2012 and Chairman of the Board from 2002 thru 2013. Prior to joining AvalonBay, he was a Partner at Trammell Crow Residential, a real estate investment firm. He previously served on the Board of Carr America and as a Senior Advisor to McKinsey and Company. Mr. Blair currently serves on the board of Pulte Homes and Regency Centers and is a member of the adjunct faculty at Boston College. He served as Chairman of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and as a Trustee at the Urban Land Institute. He attended the University of New Hampshire and Harvard Business School.
