Involution Studios’ Principal Featured Speaker at Partners Connected Health Symposium
ARLINGTON, Mass. (PRWEB) October 27, 2015 -- Juhan Sonin, the Chief Design Officer of Involution Studios, is an invited speaker at the Partner’s Connected Health Symposium this week. His topic, “Internet of Healthy Things: Examples of IoT from Other Industries that Could be Applied to Health Care”, looks at bleeding edge networked technology and how it can be applied to innovations in health care.
“The Partner’s Connected Health Symposium promotes innovative thinking and the adoption of personal health technologies to support new models of care delivery and embed wellness in our day-to-day lives,” said Joseph C. Kvedar, MD, vice president, Connected Health, Partners HealthCare. “The Internet of Healthy Things represents tremendous opportunities for providers, businesses of all kinds and society. Our Symposium presentations, by innovators such as Juhan Sonin, will help to advance the topic and, most importantly, support the adoption of technology-enabled health and wellness.”
Mr. Sonin will be joined on the “Internet of Healthy Things” track by a distinguished group of panelists: John Feland, the CEO of Argus Insights, Inc.; Brian Dolan, the Editor-in-Chief of MobilHealthNews; Jessica Cambry, a software engineer and data scientist at Mass General Hospital; and Aymen Elfiky, MD, an Attending Physician at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
“We are at an important moment in the evolution of health care,” said Mr. Sonin. "The impact of emerging digital technologies on providers, patients, and payers continues to accelerate. The rise of artificial intelligence and nanotechnology, in particular, promise to offer an enticing array of new paths to make health care better for all.”
Mr. Sonin’s career in technology began at Apple Computer in 1994. In the subsequent 21 years he has worked as a researcher, designer, and engineer at the NCSA, National Center for Supercomputing Applications, as well as at MITRE, the operator of multiple federally funded research and development centers (FFRDC’s). Today he is a principal of and the Chief Design Officer at Involution Studios, a consultancy that works with progressive healthcare technology organizations. He is a regular speaker at design, engineering, technology, and healthcare events around the world. His recent treatise, "From Bathroom to Healthroom", reimagined the home bathroom as the nexus of our personal healthcare system. He will next be speaking at Breaking the Barriers: Digital Heath and Innovation for the Healthcare Professional, organized by the Boston Young Healthcare Professionals, on October 31, 2015.
The Partner’s Connected Health Symposium is on October 29 and 30th at the Boston Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center. Mr. Sonin’s panel begins at 2:05 PM on October 30th in the Waterfront Room.
