Involution Studios Principal to Speak at Rhode Island Design Conference
(PRWEB) September 22, 2016 -- Juhan Sonin, a principal and chief design officer of Arlington, Massachusetts-based Involution Studios, is speaking at the Better World by Design Conference in Providence, Rhode Island. His presentation, titled “From Bathroom to Health Room,” has been given at prestigious health conferences at venues such as Stanford University and New York City's renown New World Stages. It outlines the evolution of the analog bathroom into an interactive digital health room that serves as the focal point for the integrated personalized medicine of the future (http://www.goinvo.com/features/from-bathroom-to-healthroom/).
“The bathroom is sort of the last digital frontier in the home,” said Mr. Sonin. “As internet-enabled devices have pervaded our other personal spaces the bathroom has remained relatively untouched. Now, with the Internet of Things enabling an entirely new level of passive and ubiquitous monitoring, we have the opportunity to convert our bathroom from a place where we get clean and relieve ourselves into the focal point of a healthy lifestyle.”
A collaboration between Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Better World by Design envisions a world where design-thinking is accessible to everyone in order to catalyze positive change on a local and global scale. Mr. Sonin is one of a small group of professional designers, artists, inventors, and CEO’s invited to present at the conference. They are joined by some of the leading students at Brown and RISD for this three day event.
Better World by Design will be held from September 23-25, 2016 in Providence, Rhode Island. The 2015 edition of the conference sold out and 2016 tickets are also dwindling.
