IOFM announces New Training Available for Processing IRS B-Notices in Compliance with IRS Requirements
Portland, Maine (PRWEB) February 26, 2015 -- On March 25, The AP Network and the Institute of Finance and Management (IOFM) will offer the online training course IRS Compliance for CP2100 B-Notices and Required TIN Solicitations. Geared toward AP professionals and taught by one of the leading advisors on US tax compliance, the 90-minute webinar will cover critical IRS requirements and how to avoid penalties for non-compliance.
The topic is a timely one, as AP departments are now preparing for IRS B-Notice compliance and new requirements for IRS Form 8822-B have created new challenges and may make old procedures outdated and high-risk. The training will be taught by Marianne Couch, JD, one of the leading tax compliance advisors in the US, author of The Form 1099 Master Guide, and a former appointee to the IRS Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee (IRPAC).
The 90-minute training course will teach attendees how to follow critical compliance procedures, including: separating the payees you should not contact from those you must contact within the first 15 days (and sending them the correct letters); following TIN solicitation requirements for 1099-MISC reportable payments; impose backup withholding from payments when required by tax regulations; and making a Reasonable Cause reply to IRS proposed penalty notices.
Enrollment in this one-time course is now open at the rate of $195 ($145 for members of The AP Network). Once the live training is held, the recording will be available on-demand to all who have enrolled.
Additional compliance training is available from IOFM and The AP Network. Course offerings can be found in the on-demand webinar library of The AP Network.
