IPEVO Introduces Its HDMI to VGA Converter; Small, Inexpensive Device Converts HDMI Signal to VGA and Audio Signal
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) December 30, 2013 -- Education and business technology designer IPEVO has added a new accessory to its arsenal: the HDMI to VGA Converter. This small box allows the user to connect HDMI devices to VGA display devices, converting HDMI signal to VGA signal. The device is now available through the IPEVO Online Store (http://www.ipevo.com) at a price of $35.00 USD.
IPEVO indicates that the HDMI to VGA Converter is ideal for use with iPad, Apple TV, personal computers and laptops, gaming consoles, set-top cable boxes, projectors, and DVD/Blu-Ray players. According to the product description, users "can avoid costly and unnecessary upgrades of [their] VGA devices with this simple unit." In addition to converting HDMI signal to VGA signal, the HDMI to VGA Converter also converts audio signal.
Another benefit of the HDMI to VGA Converter is a money-saving one: users need not purchase a separate HDMI cable, as the Converter has its own HDMI connection. The Convert features a wide variety of possible resolutions, from 640 x 480 pixels to 1920 x 1080 pixels (i.e. 1080p). An included Micro-USB cable is included to power the Converter, though many HDMI devices (such as an iPad connected to its adapter) supply sufficient power to make the Micro-USB cable unnecessary.
IPEVO, an ed tech innovator, stresses the opportunity to pair the Converter with Apple TV, iPad and a projector in the classroom. iPad's multimedia content — apps, slideshows, videos, educational games, etc. — can be wirelessly mirrored to the projector for group lessons and presentations. And because the Converter features a standard 3.5mm audio cable port, audio routed through Apple TV can also be converted and played.
One final benefit pointed out by IPEVO is the ability to pair the Converter with Apple's older Digital AV Adapter. Alone, the Digital AV Adapter cannot power the device it's connected to. For those who do not wish to incur the additional cost of Apple's newer Lightning to VGA Adapter, the Converter can be used to power the device connected to the Digital AV Adapter for long presentations.
"The HDMI to VGA Converter is inexpensive and simple to set up and use, but it packs an awful lot of utility into a small box," said Royce Hong, CEO and big head of design for IPEVO. "Educators using the iPad and Apple TV in their classrooms will enjoy the ability to present multimedia content through older VGA projectors so the whole class can participate. With public as well as private education, technology upgrades often happen slowly and one device at a time. The Converter is an affordable 'bridge' between the HDMI and VGA worlds. Innovation should never be delayed because of incompatibility issues."
