IQS Inc. hosts user group meeting with preview of new EQMS platform-Trubox
CLEVELAND, Ohio (PRWEB) September 23, 2015 -- IQS Inc., an enterprise quality management software vendor headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, hosted a customer user group meeting Sept. 16-18, 2015. Attendees included IQS customers from the automotive, aerospace and defense, and FDA-regulated industries.
Michael Rappaport, longtime CEO of IQS, opened the user group meeting with a presentation detailing the growth of IQS as well as recent customer successes. Rappaport also outlined a road map for the next generation of his company's EQMS software called Trubox™ and unveiled the new IQS Mobile Audit app. IQS' technical services division also presented the new interface for the new support center with updated capabilities for IQS' help desk as a way to continue to provide customers with A+ service during its growth.
Several guest speakers also were in attendance to engage the user group in roundtable discussions on quality management and the software necessary to meet quality challenges moving forward.
CSA Soliance, an IQS partner, discussed software validation topics and offered recommendations. CSA Soliance provided advice on what tasks to include in software validations as well as how to prepare ahead of time when starting a new project.
Pointe Precision, an IQS customer, presented on its own usage of IQS software, including a roundtable discussion that provided attendees with the opportunity to hear a real-world EQMS success story. In particular, the roundtable discussion focused on building templates in IQS' software for advanced product quality planning (APQP) with an eye toward project management.
Rob Harrison, research analyst at LNS Research, spoke at length at the user group meeting as well. Harrison offered attendees insights into the technology transition necessary to support ISO 9001:2015 implementations in concert with risk management best practices. As the final draft international standard for ISO 9001:2015 already has been released for final review, Harrison discussed how the updated quality standard will impact quality management overall.
Specifically, Harrison elaborated on the implications of ISO 9001:2015 and offered recommendations for attendees planning to become certified in the near future. Harrison brought to light unforeseen pitfalls related to ISO 9001:2015 deployments, which he said are not solely relegated to conformance post-transition.
According to Harrison's analysis, the new language focusing on risk management and risk-based thinking contained in ISO 9001:2015 is not the biggest challenge quality professionals should anticipate. Similarly, LNS Research discussed alignment to Annex SL of ISO 9001:2015; what attendees can learn from additional risk management functions within their companies; and why updated EQMS technology is a vital component of maintaining conformance. Providing attendees with best practices for quality management success, LNS Research focused lastly on risk-based, proactive continuous improvement initiatives.
IQS presented three attendees with the company's Tru-Innovation Awards. Sponsored by IQS, Tru-Innovation Awards are given to companies that utilize IQS' EQMS software to better their organizations while improving upon quality management. The three companies that were honored with Tru-Innovation Awards offered specific details as to how IQS has made their job easier, more efficient and saved their company resources. Tru-Innovation award winners and written presentation authors included:
• 1st place for Pointe Precision, written by Nicholas Sondelski, IT Manager.
• 2nd place for U.S. Tsubaki, written by Anton Grots, Corporate Quality Manager.
• 3rd place for Parker Hannifin, written by Rick Sarver, Quality Assurance Engineer.
The user group was presented with a demonstration of Trubox and given the opportunity to participate in educational workshops on the fifth generation of IQS' EQMS software. Also included in the agenda were training sessions on:
• Custom report building
• Shop-floor data collection
• Preparing for an upgrade to Trubox
• Data integration
• Document control integration
• Business analytics
Additional roundtable discussions during the workshop covered:
• Software validation
• Technical topics
• Supplier Web portals
• APQP template creation
• Special interest group discussions
Concluding the multi-day event, attendees were taken on a tour of Cleveland's newest Expedient data center, which hosts IQS On-Demand.
