Iranian-American Author, Fred Beshid, Has Published His Second Novel – Hero Pizza

About the Book
Mo Shirazi thought he left his childhood behind when he moved to New York to pursue an art career and escape from his parent's traditional Iranian ways. When he returns to his hometown of Los Angeles to visit his parents he finds himself being treated like a child again. The only way he can spend time with his father is to work for him at his pizza restaurant, Hero Pizza. When he takes a much-needed break to meet his mother for lunch she spends the whole time trying to arrange a marriage for him. Will he be able to convince his parents to recognize his newfound independence?

About the Author
Fred Beshid is an Iranian-American novelist, artist and film producer. He is the creator of the award-winning Museum of Fred, an online museum featuring his collection of thrift store paintings, which has been featured on NPR's All Things Considered and CBC's Freestyle radio programs. In his free time he serves as a volunteer arts administrator. In the past he has served on the board of directors for the Foundation for Art Resources (FAR) and on selection committees for public art. He currently serves on the Development Board for 826LA, a youth literacy project.
