Ireland Oil and Gas Summit held on 10-11th September in Dublin
Dublin, Ireland (PRWEB UK) 18 September 2013 -- International Research Networks Ltd. recently hosted the well received and attended Ireland Oil and Gas Summit which took place on the 10th-11th of September in the historic and beautiful Radisson Blu St. Helens in Stillorgan, Dublin.
The event was regarded as a great success by more than 160 delegates that attended, with more than 100 companies & organisations in attendance. IRN gathered an exceptional panel of experts from Petrel Resources, Repsol, Belize Natural Energy, Lansdowne Oil and Gas, Serica Energy, Shannon LNG, Kinsale Energy, Fastnet, Europa Oil and Gas amongst others who provided attendees with detailed analysis of present state of the oil and gas industry across Ireland.
The meeting was opened on the first day by the Minister of State Fergus O’Dowd from the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, and over the day, delegates gained a well-rounded view of the Republic of Ireland’s governmental perspective, with two additional speakers from the Petroleum Affairs Division presenting later in the day. The start of day two was dedicated to understanding the Northern Irish perspective, and the opening presentation given by the Director of Geological Survey from the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment of Northern Ireland.
Over the course of two days, a common theme emerged from the presentations - the absolute and undeniable importance of working together with others in the industry (as well as those outside of the sector) to ensure Ireland finally develops its hydrocarbon potential effectively, safely and successfully for the benefit for all.
With a renewed interest globally in Ireland offshore area, along with improved technology and increased oil prices globally, it would seem Ireland is now in the ideal position to firmly establish itself on the petroleum scene. The various presentations at the Summit strongly emphasized that Ireland (both north and south) is open and eager to do business, farm-ins into existing licences and bidding on new rounds by IOC’s are welcome.
In regards to shipping requirements, educational needs, processing plants, port services, on land infrastructure and the myriad of necessary key service providers, Ireland is extremely amenable to all business needs.
The audience consisted of senior level representatives from National Oil well Varco, San Leon, Repsol, Kosmos, Nexen, Suncor Energy, Transocean, Tullow Oil, Two Seas Oil, Cairn Energy, Conoco Phillips, Clannah, Faroe Petroleum, Fairfield Energy, Expro North Sea Ltd, Infrastrata, Deloitte, Kuehne and Nagel, Senergy Well, Ocean Installer and Subsea 7 amongst many others.
