Mediterranean countries now need to continue building a consistent and collective regulatory environment to ensure a safe, healthy and sustainable foundation for oil and gas activities.
With this in mind, IRN is pleased to announce the newest addition to the company’s portfolio of global oil and gas summits, the HSE Med 2014 Summit that will take place on 21st-22nd January 2014 in Florence, Italy.
The HSE Med 2014 Summit will specifically analyse the Health, Safety and Environmental issues in Mediterranean countries including Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Malta, Cyprus, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and Algeria. The recent bonanza led more and more oil and gas companies to initiative business in the region. For the first time in the Mediterranean Sea, risk management will be thoroughly discussed as a key topic, along with the EU and MENA regulatory environment and this will allow companies to better understand the growing HSE challenges such as loss of lives and environmental hazards.
The Tamar gas field off the coast of Israel has been operated for the first time since its discovery four years ago, and it has been proven that the Aegean and Ionian Basins offshore Greece, the Aphrodite field in Cyprus, and the Nile Basin offshore Egypt, are some of the most dynamic of the industry. Algeria and Libya also have the highest concentration of proven gas reserves in the whole African continent.
The HSE Med 2014 Summit will show the industry how to deliver the right level of standards and improve operations through the revision of their perception of risk, the development of their safety performance indicators and environmental management plans.
