Iron Workers Local 89 Announced New Group Benefits and a New Partnership with Cornerstone Benefits Management
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (PRWEB) February 07, 2018 -- Iron Workers Local 89 recently announced that new group disability and life benefits are now available during its enrollment period, which is currently open and runs until February 16, 2018. The benefits are offered through a new partnership with Cornerstone Benefits Management of Lake Barrington, IL—a company that specializes in administering group insurance plans to Union members.
Peter Gilbertson, a Regional Account Manager from Cornerstone Benefits Management, was introduced to the Union members during a meeting on January 13th where he discussed the new coverage options.
The new group disability and life benefits feature:
- 90 days of short term disability off the job and up to 10 years of long term disability due to illness or injury
- Additional life insurance coverage up to $200,000 for Local 89 members with guaranteed approval and without answering health questions or taking a physical exam
- Eligibility to begin receiving payable benefits by the 15th day of disability
“These options will provide Local 89 members with supplemental benefits for Short and Long-Term Disability as well as Life Insurance,” said Gilbertson. “The group benefits are offered on a voluntary basis and are guaranteed to be approved for every member of Local 89 throughout their open enrollment period. These coverages provide Local 89 members and their families the ability to further protect themselves from possible cash flow issues that arise when members are unable to work due to an accident or illness.”
