iShutter by Pulp Systems, Launches on Kickstarter to Provide Webcam Security for Mac Users
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- Launching today on Kickstarter, iShutter (http://www.ishutter.co) is a simple, discrete way to ensure your privacy by guarding your Mac’s webcam against unwanted eyes. Created to be a simple, always-on solution, iShutter is a magnetic metal strip that allows users to physically block the embedded webcam on a MacBook Pro or MacBook Air laptop.
No one should have to worry about privacy, especially when it comes to prying eyes through a laptop. To ensure privacy is always within reach, iShutter is designed to stay on your computer at all times, even when the lid is closed. A see-through opening in the center of the strip easily allows the user to enable the web camera by sliding the strip left or right, and to then simply block the camera when not in use.
“We developed iShutter to address the potential awkward moments when the web camera is accidentally enabled during a Skype conversation or an online conference call,” said Sibba Bergthorsdottir, creator of the product. “Additionally, the iShutter addresses the raising concern about privacy and threats of web camera hacking”.
Pulp Systems, LLC, the company behind iShutter, has set the funding goal for this Kickstarter campaign at $8,000 and will make the product entirely in the U.S. To learn more, or to back the Kickstarter project to receive an iShutter, please visit:
