ISIS Mindset Realized by Author in New Book about Deranged Warrior
Palisades, NY (PRWEB) December 11, 2014 -- Brutality and derangement are often complimentary and author Valerie Ogden has opened the channels of time to study the behavior of Gilles de Rais, the Fifteenth Century war companion of Joan of Arc. Her research resulted in her new book " Bluebeard: Brave Warrior, Brutal Psychopath." In her reserach the author noted the simiarities between the derranged mind of the warrior of the dark ages and the psychopathic behavior of the contemporary ISIS member who wants to return to the dark ages and is willing to brutalize his way there.
Gilles de Rais’ activities were brutal and driven by a deranged mind. Bluebeard as he became known was a man whose mind snapped in war causing him to plunge into a life of rank barbarism. He was a man of a dark time when the enlightenment of the Renaissance was still in the future. That dark time provided the perfect background for his activities which have come to light under the study lamps of author Valerie Ogden in the libraries of France.
“ I realized in my research the similarity between Bluebeard's derangement and the apparent mindset of the typical ISIS member. The irony was apparent as I compared the mindset of Gilles de Rais of that dark time to that of the typical ISIS member who wants to return to that same dark time,” said Valerie Ogden at the Geldon Book Club Monday night in McLean, Virginia.”Just as deRais preyed on children, so does the ISIS psychopath who wants to return to that time of ignorance and brutality and cruelty and gleefully murders children to achieve his goal.”
Author Valerie Ogden traveled to France to research government and regional files to collect the data that might serve for a clearer understanding of Gilles de Rais. When he emerged as a cruel, vicious monster from the data she had collected, she knew that she witnessed a file in which the forces of good and evil had collided. Knowing that, Ms. Ogden also sought to understand the man over which the forces collided and presents hypotheses as to why he became what he became. She brings to the reader a fascinating exploration of one human being who has come to represent the worst in human kind but who is not alone in the depths to which he has descended. “It was a time when people believed in the fights between the forces of good and evil,” said Valerie Ogden. “It is obvious that those forces are colliding again. Bluebeard may well be laughing a deranged laugh, wherever he is.”
