It’s Greener in Texas: Simon Malls Joins Shop&Recycle Campaign for Back to School
Austin, TX (PRWEB) August 21, 2015 -- As Back to School shopping season continues with tax free weekends, promotions and big discounts nationwide, several premier shopping malls in Texas have pledged a greener shopping experience for customers as they scoop up the latest trends and fall fashions for that all important “new look.”
For the second consecutive year, Simon Property Group has joined the Shop&Recycle Campaign, sponsored by American Textile Recycling Service (ATRS), to provide easy, convenient drop off destinations for gently used, out of season, unwanted clothing, shoes and team wear while they shop for new gear.
Four premium mall locations in Texas are hosting sponsored events throughout the month of August to encourage shoppers to clean out their closets and buy something, recycle something as they save big on this season’s must haves. Distinctive ATRS Clothing & Shoe Recyclers are onsite at Irving Mall in Dallas, The Shops at Arbor Walk, The Arboretum Shopping Center and Gateway Shopping Center located in Austin, TX.
According to the National Retail Federation, Americans spend approximately $26.5 billion on apparel and shoes each year for students grade K-12. ATRS partners with leading fashion malls, retailers and property managers nationwide to educate shoppers about the importance of leveraging their spending power during this peak season and shopping sustainably in the communities where we all live, work, shop and play.

ATRS green fairies have been onsite at the Simon Property Group mall locations in Austin and Dallas to share information about recycling, take selfies and hand out fun, family friendly prizes throughout Tax Free Weekends to over 600 area shoppers.
