It Works! Donates $60,000 at Annual Conference
Bradenton, FL (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- At its January conference, It Works! Global’s sales force exceeded its goal of raising $55,000 for Children’s Cup and Selah Freedom. The effort was a result of the company’s challenge to its team to make a difference in the world by focusing on assisting charitable causes.
The conference at the Tampa Convention Center, called Freedom 2014, created the platform for It Works! Global to sell approximately 5,000 of each charity’s wristband at a cost of $5 each. Including additional donations, the final figure was more than $60,000.
Proceeds from the wristband sales and additional donations go to the international nonprofit Children’s Cup and the national organization Selah Freedom.
“It Works! is proud to support causes that can change the lives of those with great need,” said company founder and CEO Mark Pentecost. “We hope that this event will inspire our sales force to continue to give back to their own communities throughout the year.”
Children’s Cup, a non-profit organization founded in 1992 by Dave and Jean Ohlerking, offers hope to hurting and forgotten children. Through Children’s Cup, a $5 donation can feed two children for approximately four weeks.
Selah Freedom was founded to bring awareness to the issue of sex trafficking while providing survivors with a safe place to heal.
Previously, It Works! Global provided its Seattle conference attendees with the opportunity to purchase Children’s Cup wristbands, resulting in an overwhelming success: The company and its members sold out the wristbands and raised enough to feed more than 60,000 children in Africa through Children’s Cup.
