Italian Olive Oil Producer Bellucci Premium Responds to an Article on New European Regulations on Olive Oil Labeling
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) December 17, 2013 -- High quality extra virgin Italian olive oil producer Bellucci Premium responds to an article outlining new European regulations on olive oil labeling.
According to the Olive Oil Times article published on December 10th titled “Europe Set for New Regulations on Olive Oil Labeling,” Europe will be adapting a new set of olive oil labeling regulations. These new rules are designed to make olive oil labels easier to understand and read and will be placed into effect late next year. Some of these changes include requiring all information to be in a uniform body of text and in the exact font so that items, like the quality of the oil, cannot be hidden in smaller font; the back label of olive oil bottles to indicate that they should be stored in cool, dark areas to ensure quality and freshness; and that the harvest year can be indicated only if all the olives used for that bottle were from the same year.
Bellucci Premium, a producer of high quality extra virgin Italian olive oil, has commented on these recent regulation changes. Natalie Sexenian, Bellucci Premium’s Marketing Manager, has stated, “We are pleased to hear about these olive oil label regulation changes. They are entirely designed for the consumer to be able to make smarter choices about the olive oil they choose to purchase and how they choose to store them for optimum freshness and shelf life.” She adds, “Many olive oil consumers do not realize that companies will hide information from the consumer by putting it in a smaller font, which causes it to go unseen.”
Sexenian believes this initiative will help keep olive oil manufacturers honest with consumers. “We understand how important it is to produce an excellent product that consumers can feel good about. In fact, Bellucci Premium extra virgin olive oil includes a bottle lot number on each bottle that can be used to trace where the olive oil in the bottle came from.”
Bellucci offers three different types of oil, including an organic option, with a mild peppery flavor and fruity undertones that will satisfy any palate. Bellucci Premium Toscano extra virgin olive oil uses olives that are grown on the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, and maintained by 3rd and 4th generation farmers. The third type of oil Bellucci produces is the finest 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, grown in many different regions of Italy.
