(PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- IVF New Jersey Fertility Center was recently a sponsor an event hosted by the international nonprofit organization, Men Having Babies, Inc. that marked the launch of a new program to provide affordable family building services to gay men. In support of the program, IVF New Jersey donated an IVF cycle and an egg donor matching fee to assist a same-sex couple or LGBT individual seeking parenthood through egg donation and surrogacy.
Spearheaded by Men Having Babies, and announced at the organization’s October 6 event in Manhattan, the Gay Parenting Assistance Program (GPAP) is the first ever single program to promote affordable surrogacy services for gay men. In 2014, the GPAP program is expected to distribute more than $500,000 in surrogacy related services to gay couples.
The IVF cycle and donor matching fee donated by IVF New Jersey—which has one of the highest clinical pregnancy rates of any East Coast fertility center for egg donation cycles using a gestational carrier – over 80% —will directly support the new initiative.
“IVFNJ is proud to support the new Gay Parenting Assistance Program and is committed to helping LGBT couples and individuals build families and become parents,” said Jane Tervooren, IVFNJ marketing director. “Our industry-leading reproductive techniques have resulted in some of the highest success rates in the country, providing patients the best chance of having their own biological children.”
Men Having Babies, Inc. offers resources for any gay person considering having children through surrogacy by providing unbiased information, access to quality service providers and connections with others going through the process.
“We are extremely appreciative that a leading center like IVF New Jersey has partnered with us for the new assistance program,” said Ron Poole-Dayan, executive director of Men Having Babies. “A large portion of our membership is from the New York City tri-state area and will be eligible to benefit from the IVF cycle. We are honored to work with a reputable leader in this region.”
