Izo Contributes to Community Health and Safety with Groupizo Fundraiser for Futures Without Violence
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 25, 2013 -- Izo Brands responds to ongoing gun violence and collateral damage in Chicago by group funding a contribution to non-profit Futures Without Violence using their online fundraising platform, Groupizo. At the same time Chicago tourism is booming, some neighborhoods of the Windy City suffer immeasurable loss each weekend, with death tolls escalating along with July temperatures. Futures Without Violence seeks to end violence at home and around the world with programs focusing on advocacy, judgement skills, leadership, healthcare, teen education, aiding women and girls to build stronger communities, male role models, and international and domestic policy changes.
For Izo Team members, choosing to promote this cause through custom apparel was a no-brainer. “I see people wearing t-shirts that say ‘Chi-raq’, implying that Chicago is like Iraq because of all the shootings, and it makes me very upset. I am happy for the opportunity to speak out against violence in Chicago by wearing a more positive shirt,” said Izo intern and Chicagoan Scott Doten. The Futures Without Violence: Safe Chicago event features Tultex Fine Jersey t-shirts with a clearly displayed anti-violence message.
Funding donations with Groupizo means that in addition to the obvious monetary contribution, the cause the group promotes (in this case, reduction of gun violence in Chicago) receives the additional marketing benefits of publicity and increased visibility. For local causes, a show of solidarity within the community can be an impactful message, bringing more attention to those at stake.
Izo chose Futures Without Violence as the recipient of its donation as the organization focuses on the many causes of community violence and has a proven track record of positive outreach since 1969.
