Jacksonville Jaguars $1 Million Gift Creates $2.25 Million Endowment to Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center
Jacksonville, Fla. (PRWEB) October 26, 2016 -- Shad Khan, owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, has made a $1 million gift to Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center that, with matching funds, has created a $2.25 million Jacksonville Jaguars endowment for breast cancer prevention, treatment, and care. Khan presented a check to Hugh Greene, President and Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Health, during Sunday's game between the Jaguars and the Oakland Raiders at EverBank Field.
“Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center provides a unique opportunity for Jacksonville in the international efforts to prevent, treat and cure cancer,” Khan said. “For this reason, we are making a significant commitment to create an endowment to support and help advance their efforts, specifically in the area of breast cancer which continues to impact the lives of women daily. This is a serious disease and one that requires teamwork to defeat it, and we are honored to be a part of that team.”
