January Indicates Improvement in Washington, D.C. 2015 Real Estate Market
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) February 13, 2015 -- The Washington, D.C. metropolitan area market saw a nine percent gain in dollar volume sales and more than four percent gain in average price over January 2014. Despite a cool 2014 market in Northern Virginia and Montgomery County neighborhoods, January 2015 numbers indicate an improving market.
In 2014, sales in Northern Virginia and Montgomery County trailed behind 2013 sales with a five percent decrease in dollar volume of sales and less than one percent increase in price, as compared to a seven percent increase in price in 2013. Washington, D.C., which had a five percent gain in sales and a more than five percent gain in prices, was the only area in the metro region that saved 2014 from dipping below 2013 statistics.*
Each month, Evers and Company’s Donna Evers, owner and broker, reviews the residential real estate statistics provided by the Metropolitan Regional Information System (MRIS).
“Sales were sluggish last January and remained that way the whole year. However, I’m happy to say that the marketplace has picked up, as our January 2015 report reveals,” said Donna Evers. “With low interest rates and increased consumer confidence, I believe that the real estate market will be healthier than last year for the entire metropolitan area, rather than just for the District.”
Evers & Company, http://www.eversco.com, remains the largest independent, woman-owned and run real estate company in the metropolitan area, with 110 passionate and dedicated agents and four offices – two in the District, one in Bethesda/Chevy Chase and one in Virginia.
