JDM Associates Awarded $20 Million U.S.D.O.E. Better Buildings Initiative Contract
Falls Church, VA (PRWEB) June 05, 2015 -- JDM Associates LLC, a nationally recognized energy, sustainability and resource management consulting firm with offices in Falls Church, VA and the U.S. Virgin Islands, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $20 million five year contract, to provide strategic support on the Better Buildings Initiative of the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). Launched by President Obama in 2011, Better Buildings is a broad, multi-strategy initiative aiming to improve the energy efficiency of the nation’s buildings by 20% over ten years. JDM will provide the leadership role in working with corporate leaders, utilities, universities, states, municipalities, government officials, commercial real estate investors and others to meet this ambitious goal. Estimated savings in energy bills of more than $80 billion per year will be used to create jobs, hire more workers, invent new products and create additional shareholder and asset value.
According to JDM Principal and Co-Founder John Klein, the DOE award enables the company’s team of sustainability, financial, marketing, and building experts to further develop key program areas: the Better Buildings Challenge works with market leaders on proven energy efficiency solutions for commercial and industrial building owners; the Better Buildings Alliance offers public and private sector entities an exceptional network of research and technical experts to encourage the use of better technologies in buildings and more profitable businesses; the Better Buildings Accelerators are short term efforts to focus on market barriers; and the State and Local Energy Efficiency Action (SEE Action) program facilitates access by decision makers to energy efficiency information, events, and technical assistance.
