JDV Equipment Corp Announces Technology Licensing Agreement With Global Bio-Fuels Technology
DOVER, NJ (PRWEB) April 15, 2015 -- JDV Equipment Corporation announced today that it has signed a technology licensing agreement with Global Biofuels Technology to deploy its patented Process Mixing wastewater treatment technology in North America.
Based in Dover, New Jersey, JDV Equipment designs, manufactures and services water and wastewater treatment equipment, helping communities and industry around the world provide safe and sustainable environments. The principals of JDV Equipment have an extensive network of contacts and close working relationships with treatment plant owners and operators across the region. JDV has over 50 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry.
A key and long practiced process in treating wastewater is Anaerobic Digestion with proper mixing being essential to this process. Anaerobic Digestion is also a proven method for providing renewable energy, allowing facilities and communities to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, offset energy costs as well as the potential to become a net-zero consumer of energy. Anaerobic Digestion involves microorganisms feeding on organic matter, such as wastewater sludge, animal manure and food wastes. The volume of waste is not only reduced, but a byproduct of this naturally occurring process is the gas Methane (CH4). The methane can be used as a fuel to generate electricity and heat. It also can be used to fuel vehicles and added to natural gas pipelines as renewable fuel.
The American Biogas Council, estimates the potential for biogas plant development in the US to be roughly 11,000 projects. The energy production potential and the reduction of emissions is very compelling. It's a smart, sustainable and effective alternative to what has been common practice.
"With the acquisition of this technology, we merge not only 50+ years of experience in the waste and water industry but also compliment and strengthen our existing Anaerobic Digestion Product offerings. JDV is now in a better position to provide treatment plant owners and designers with increased options to meet their unique specification and budget requirements," said Bob Abbott, President of JDV Equipment.
Abbott added, "GBT's technology will allow JDV to solve mixing challenges in a broader set of applications such as CSO applications, Biosolids holding ponds, aeration and EQ tanks, and provide customers with a proven technology with expert support."
Mixing solutions are not only effective in Anaerobic applications, but they also provide the required oxygen transfer and/or material contact needs for Aerobic Digestion, Biosolids storage and other municipal, industrial and agricultural applications. Additionally, mixing contributes to odor control while preventing solids from settling, helping improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the application's process.
"We are very pleased and excited to announce our Strategic Alliance with JDV Equipment. JDV is a company with great standing in our industry for over 50 years by producing and providing excellent equipment in a wide range of wastewater technologies," said Director of Engineering for Global Biofuels Technology, Rick Behnke.
