Jeanette Bunn of Travel To Go Highlights Southwestern Florida in September
SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) August 13, 2015 -- From Naples to Fort Myers to Marco Island, the Gulf Coast of Florida brings enjoyable weather year round and September is no exception. Jeanette Bunn, Travel To Go President, encourages vacationers to relax on the beach, swim in the temperate gulf, and enjoy some of these unique, local attractions.
1. Summer Jazz – 2015 marks the 30th year of the Summer Jazz on the Gulf Concert Series, and the final performance takes place on September 13th from 7-10pm. This free concert is provided by the Late Night Brass and is located on The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club’s stunning Watkins Lawn. The view overlooks the Gulf of Mexico with stunning sunsets, cool breezes, and a relaxing atmosphere. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating, but there is no outside food allowed.
2. Crab Fest – Everglades City is known as the Stone Crab Capital of the World and on September 26th, the city gathers together for the annual Blessing of the Stone Crab Fleet. Local pastors bless the boats as they prepare for the start of the season. Jeanette Bunn of Travel To Go notes that the festival begins at 10am and includes arts and crafts booths, music, face painting and food. The annual Coconut Guava Cake Baking Contest participants will also have samples in a bake sale. There is a stone crab art contest for kids as well as a frog jumping contest. The event takes place at the Rod & Gun Club Lodge and is free to the public.
3. Botanical Garden – Celebrate the Dog Days of Summer with man’s best friend at the Naples Botanical Garden. Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings dogs are invited to explore the gardens with their human guides. Dogs are only $4.95 through September 13th and $9.95 after that while humans are free with membership.
4. Naples Zoo – This walk through zoo makes meeting the animals a treat. The paved paths wind around rare and beautiful animals in a historic tropical garden first planted in 1919. Feature exhibits include Snake Sunbathing, Meet the Keeper, and Alligator Bay Feeding. Over Labor Day Weekend kids can enter the zoo at no charge with a paying adult. Kids and adults alike will enjoy seeing pythons, cheetahs, antelope, and hyenas, among many more animals.
