Jeffrey P. Brennan Appointed Vice President of Industry Relations & Business Development at Wake Forest Innovations
Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) January 30, 2015 -- Jeff Brennan has been named Vice President, Industry Relations & Business Development at Wake Forest Innovations.
In this newly created position, Brennan will engage with industry to form business arrangements across a broad range of scientific and clinical research operations. Brennan’s role has national and international reach in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and clinical diagnostics industries.

Brennan will lead the newly formed Industry Relations & Business Development Department of Wake Forest Innovations with direct responsibility for several core services including: Business Development, Market Analytics, Intellectual Property Management, Technology Licensing, New Company Formation and Incubation, and Contract R&D Services Sales.
As a member of Wake Forest Innovations executive leadership team, Brennan and his colleagues will work with the product accelerators of Wake Forest Innovations (therapeutics/vaccines, medical devices and diagnostics) to support the development of proprietary technologies for commercialization through licensing to industry.
To promote and contract specialized preclinical and clinical research & development capabilities to industry, government and other institutions, Brennan will work with both Contract Research & Development Services at Wake Forest Innovations and the Office of Sponsored Research at Wake Forest School of Medicine.
In addition, Brennan will work with the Dean of the School of Medicine, the Senior Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Research and faculty to engage industry to secure funding for basic science programs.
Brennan comes to Wake Forest after a career in industry with senior business development responsibility at several organizations including Sanofi, Inc., and most recently at Targacept, Inc.
“Jeff has successfully developed and negotiated major product licensing and commercialization agreements with industry, established start-ups, and executed major research agreements between academia and industry, which made him the ideal candidate to lead the Industry Relations & Business Development Department that supports our open innovation engagement model with industry,” Tomlinson added.
