Jersey City Treatment Center Announces New Program to Address Binge Drinking Issue Among Adolescents
Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- A Jersey City treatment center is announcing that it's starting a new program aimed at addressing binge drinking problems among adolescents through Drug Addiction Treatment Centers.
According to a report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the percentages of youths reporting binge alcohol use and the use of cigarettes and marijuana in the past month were lower among those who perceived great risk in using these substances than among those who did not perceive great risk. For instance, in 2012, past month binge drinking (consumption of five or more drinks of an alcoholic beverage on a single occasion on at least 1 day in the past 30 days) was reported by 4.0 percent of youths aged 12 to 17 who perceived great risk from "having five or more drinks of an alcoholic beverage once or twice a week," which was lower than the rate (9.5 percent) for youths who saw moderate, slight, or no risk from having five or more drinks of an alcoholic beverage once or twice a week (Figure 6.1). Past month marijuana use was reported by 1.0 percent of youths who saw great risk in smoking marijuana once a month compared with 9.6 percent of youths who saw moderate, slight, or no risk.
Alcoholism, a disease that destroys individuals as well as families, is addressed through the substance abuse treatment center’s programs. Cocaine, heroin, Oxycontin and benzodiazepines are just a few of the drugs that the treatment center helps people put in their past.
The program offers a collective style of treatment options for clients. Ultimately, its bottom line is to help all clients leave the addiction treatment center with a structure in place for life outside of it. People come into these types of centers looking either for a new life or relief from their pain, and counselors and therapists on staff are ready to help.
Entering the Jersey City rehab center gives clients a new chance to be responsible members of society once again. They come to find themselves, discover new levels of self-esteem, and a spirituality that works.
An initial step is detoxification from all mind-altering substances. This is overseen by a well-trained medical staff, making sure clients are supported, guided and nurtured through these initial hours and days free from their drug of choice.
