SCTR rescues Thoroughbreds of all ages with a primary goal of rescuing horses at livestock and “low-end” auctions which sell horses for the value of their meat. It is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer charity which rescues Thoroughbred horses from slaughter, neglect and abuse. The horses SCTR cares for typically were bought at prestigious yearling sales for amounts exceeding $100,000 when they were racing prospects, but later often sell at livestock auctions for as little as $185.

A soft and stylish T-shirt, the Ladies Thoroughbred Tee features a crew neckline and fitted shape, and is 100 percent organic cotton. The horse image was created by Julius Lumsden, an Oxford-educated fine artist whose fashion accomplishments include developing his own couture line and serving as Designer in Residence for the New York City Ballet.
