Jim Ellis Automotive Group Quenches Automotive Thirst at Lemonade Days 2014
Dunwoody, GA (PRWEB) April 21, 2014 -- Jim Ellis Automotive Group is a proud sponsor of the Lemonade Days 2014 event held April 23-27 at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody. The sponsoring Jim Ellis Automotive Group dealerships include: Audi Atlanta, Buick GMC Atlanta, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Mazda Atlanta and Volkswagen Atlanta. The thirst quenching event will include savory vending options, rousing outdoor games, thrilling park rides and chilled lemonade to keep attendees cool during the spring event.
Lemonade Days 2014 is an annual fundraising event hosted by the Dunwoody Preservation Trust (DPT). The event boasts an exhilarating jam-packed schedule with an assortment of family-friendly activities. There will be amusement rides, a petting zoo, games and face painting for small children to enjoy. There will be live music, an arts and crafts exhibit, a skate park exhibition, and a soap box derby exhibition for derby enthusiasts. The Big Squeeze 5K race will be held during the final day of Lemonade Days 2014 and a skate park competition and live bands will close-out the spectacular event.
According to the Lemonade Days website, the event began as a tactic for the DPT to raise funds for replanting trees in the community after a devastating tornado in 1998. After the DPT replanted over 25,000 trees they began to focus on restoring the Dunwoody Farmhouse and then the Donaldson- Bannister Farmhouse. The Donaldson- Bannister Farmhouse was built in the mid-1870s and DPT would like to preserve the relic for future generations.
Admission to the event is free, but there will be a cost for the amusement rides. The funds for this event will be used for the preservation of the Donaldson-Bannister Farmhouse, the refurbishing or maintenance of additional green space preservation projects, funding an annual scholarship award to a college student majoring in historic preservation and expanding two historic Dunwoody cemeteries.
