JogNog Kicks Off Nationwide Science Contest on Digital Learning Day
Lynnfield, MA (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- JogNog, the leading digital learning app for science education, is launching a free nationwide contest on Digital Learning Day, February 5, 2014. The contest is designed to motivate students to study science using digital learning and to help teachers easily reinforce key science concepts.
JogNog’s Digital Learning Day contest is based on the JogNog Science Challenge, a program that has been proven to improve science scores on standardized state tests by creating friendly competition among schools to learn science concepts and correctly answer questions. Questions in the competition support Next Generation Science Standards as well as individual state science requirements for grades 2 through 8.
The contest begins on February 5 and runs for two weeks. Students will have until 9:00 PM (EST) on February 19 to complete the challenge and bring victory to their schools. Schools will win by having their students answer the most questions correctly from JogNog’s library of 500 science quizzes – over 15,000 questions, all free of charge during the contest.
The top three schools in the competition will win trophies and recognition in the media, plus the first-place school will win a year-long subscription to JogNog for every teacher, up to a $5,000 value.
To sign up for the competition and get free access to all of the science quizzes for the JogNog Science Challenge, visit the contest page at http://www.JogNog.com/DLD2014. The three winning schools will be announced on Thursday, February 20, 2014, on the contest page as well as via Twitter (@JogNog).
“Competition motivates learning, and we are pleased to make all of the science quizzes on JogNog free for this Digital Learning Day contest,” said Stephen Smith, CEO and co-founder of JogNog.com. “The competition here is to see how much you can learn, not how much you know. Every school has a fair chance. Let the school that learns the most win!”
Teachers and parents interested in trying the JogNog quizzes during the two-week period can play for free by entering the code VVDHKAR into the search box on JogNog.com or in the search field of JogNog's mobile apps.
“My students were having such a fun time advancing up levels in JogNog!” said Kelly Shaw, a teacher at Key’s Gate Charter School who participated in last year’s contest. “The competition was awesome. It motivated all of our students to focus on learning!”
