John Hawk Agency Launches Charity Drive to Support the ECLC’s P.R.I.D.E. Program for Special Needs Individuals
Catham, NJ (PRWEB) July 10, 2015 -- The John Hawk Agency, a locally owned insurance firm in Morris County, is announcing a charity drive that will raise funds and generate awareness for the ECLC’s P.R.I.D.E. program which serves individuals with autism, Downs syndrome, and developmental or learning disabilities throughout the Chatham area.
The ECLC – short for Education, Careers & Lifelong Community – is a locally operated non-profit organization that has served children and adults with special needs in Morris County since 1970. In 2008, the ECLC launched the P.R.I.D.E. program (Promoting Responsibility Independence Decision-making Employability), an adult activity center that provides ECLC graduates with vocational training and independent living skills.
P.R.I.D.E. also offers in-house employment opportunities to special needs adults thanks to “Pretzels Made with Pride”, an integrated ECLC small business that sells chocolate covered pretzels made by special needs employees.
“It’s absolutely amazing to see what the ECLC has done for our special needs community,” says John Hawk, owner of the John Hawk Agency. “The ECLC and the PRIDE program are more than just a charity; they are a salient example of what happens when you combine hope, community, and hard work. We need them, and that’s why we’re launching this charity drive.”
The John Hawk Agency has already expended significant time and resources reaching out to the local community in support of the ECLC. Hawk and his team are contacting clients, friends, and neighbors alike, and have established an online presence via social media channels that continues to gather attentions all across New Jersey.
As well as fund raising for the ECLC and the P.R.I.D.E. program, the John Hawk Agency has committed to assisting a number of other local charities over the months to come. “We’re going to find at least one new charity to support every two months,” pledges Hawk.
