John L. Scott Foundation Raises Over One Million Dollars for Children’s Hospitals
Issaquah, WA (PRWEB) December 30, 2013 -- The John L. Scott Foundation, well known for helping to raise funds for children’s hospitals throughout the Pacific Northwest, today announced it helped sponsor events that raised over $1.4 million dollars for Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, Washington, and Dorenbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
In raising funds for Seattle Children’s Hospital, the John L. Scott Foundation sponsored two events; the Seattle Musicians for Children’s Hospital (SMooCH) Benefit Concert, and the 106.1 KISS FM 13th annual One Big Kiss Radiothon with radio hosts Jackie and Bender.
The SMooCH concert raised over $345,000, and featured Seattle native, and Hip-Hop artist, Macklemore. At the KISS FM One Big Kiss Radiothon, Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson, along with Macklemore, made a surprise appearance. With the help of John L. Scott Foundation volunteers who manned the phone lines all afternoon and evening, the radiothon raised over $881,000.
John L. Scott Foundation volunteers were also active in Portland, Oregon for 99.5 FM The Wolf’s Dorenbecher Hunt for a Cure Radiothon. This event helped raise over $217,000 for Dorenbecher Children’s Hospital.
“I would like to thank everyone involved with making the John L. Scott Foundation events such a huge success,” said J. Lennox Scott, Chairman and CEO of John L. Scott Real Estate. “The proceeds will go a long way in making a positive impact in the lives of many children.”
