Johnny Manziel Surprises Guests at Tootsies in Houston
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) February 07, 2014 -- Tootsies, known as Houston’s home for fashion, hosted the third annual Love’s in Fashion event benefiting Dec My Room, where former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel surprised guests as he strolled the runway with 6-year-old cancer survivor and Aggie fan, Charlie Dina.
Playing off the Valentine’s Day theme, the fashion show featured Houston’s famed philanthropic couples donning the latest and hottest Tootsies and Suitsupply fashions. Manziel, who flew in from training in San Diego, was the grand finale walking hand in hand with Dina as the pair was greeted with a standing ovation from admiring fans and flashing cameras. The duo has been close friends since 2012 and Manziel was Dina’s biggest cheerleader during five rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
“We are honored Johnny wanted to be a part of this special night,” says Tootsies Owner and Founder Mickey Rosmarin. “We created this event benefiting Dec My Room because it aligns with what Tootsies has to offer – fashion and glamour – while serving the greater good in our community.”
Houston Texans Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer Cal McNair sat front row, where he high-fived Manziel when he was on the runway. Houston Texans General Manager Rick Smith and wife Tiffany were one of several socialite twosomes who modeled fashions during the high-profile fundraiser. Attendees sipped specialty cocktails provided by Deep Eddy Vodka and Pura Vida Tequila while enjoying lite bites from Eddie V’s and Affair Extraordinaire. Proceeds from the event helped Dec My Room further its mission to create an enjoyable healing place for children and young adults in hospitals.
