Join Us at the JOOLA North American Teams Championships 2015
(PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- JOOLA and North American Table Tennis (NATT) are excited to continue its Thanksgiving tradition of hosting the North American Teams Table Tennis Championships. For the third year running, the tournament will be held at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Maryland.
Located just across the river from the nation’s capital, National Harbor features numerous restaurants, shops, nightlife, and access to downtown Washington, DC. Players and spectators have a plentiful selection of activities and experiences to choose from! With the success of this summer's JOOLA Teams South and JOOLA Teams West, we're expecting a large turn out and we're preparing prizes, raffles, and maybe even a pop-up shop! As players are busy with three days of intense competition, their families and friends can enjoy a multitude of fun activities! ICE!, an indoor winter wonderland featuring two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures and ice slides, will be right next door to the playing hall.
As the tournament approaches, registration is winding down with over 700 players split among 187 teams. Popularity of the teams format has risen among players because it packs a high quantity of matches and high quality competitors for each player. Teams of 3, 4, or 5 players compete with 3 players participating in any given team match. Team matches are Swaythling cup format: five matches out of nine. Each of the nine potential individual matches is a singles match played best three of five. Teams are seeded based on the combined rating of the three top players on the team and placed into preliminary groups. Each team will compete on the first day to place them in a division. Each division will consist of two groups of eight teams playing a round robin to determine who advances to the semifinals on Sunday afternoon. Two teams from each group will advance to compete for the division championship.
This year's tournament features the JOOLA White Super P 40+ Poly Ball so competitors will not be allowed to wear white while playing.
