Jolley Trolley’s In-Demand Driver, Ronald Negron, Celebrates 4-Plus Years With the Transportation Organization
Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) December 16, 2013 -- The Jolley Trolley, Clearwater’s longstanding public transportation system, is known for providing reliable transport for local residents and tourists alike. Jolley Trolley driver Ronald “Benny” Negron is celebrating over four years spent with the organization—making him one of the senior-most Jolley Trolley drivers. Negron also has the distinction of being the organization’s top requested charter driver.
Negron, a Florida transplant, relocated to the Sunshine State in April of 2002. With a background in the hospitality field, Negron says that he has always enjoyed meeting and working with the public. Negron joined the Jolley Trolley team in 2009 as a part-time driver; since then, his duties have grown to include assisting with managerial duties and driving charters for weddings, pub crawls and special events. Negron says that his time with Jolley Trolley has been a positive one in many ways, but his biggest enjoyment comes from the widespread reach of the organization.
“Through my work with the Jolley Trolley, I’ve been able to meet people from all walks of life—everyone from local residents to people from the U.K., Canada and Europe,” Negron said. “I’ve seen this company grow and become a backbone of Tampa Bay society, and I look forward to continuing my work with the Jolley Trolley for many years.”
As Florida is a premier vacation spot, with Clearwater seeing more than 878,000 visitors from 2011-2012 (1), the area is a prime location for tours and destination vacations. The Jolley Trolley runs regularly throughout the week, with Negron being highly requested due to the ease with which he combines professionalism and a fun atmosphere. Negron, who is approaching his fifth year with the organization, says that his biggest enjoyment is charters, which allow him to communicate with guests and ensure that their experience is a great one.
“Benny has been with us for several years, and I would say that clients request him because of the wonderful experience he gives to them by paying close attention to details and foreseeing all issues that may happen before they arise,” said Jolley Trolley Executive Director, Rosemary Longenecker. “Benny’s warmth and professionalism assures the client that they will not have to be concerned with their transportation—he’s an ideal member of our company.”
Jolley Trolley recently added another vehicle to its line—Trolley #19—to not only facilitate route expansion and job security, per Longenecker, but also to enable the organization to keep up with public demand. The Jolley Trolley now transports 600,000 passengers annually, compared to 68,000 passengers in 2009.
The Jolley Trolley will expand its routes to include Westfield Mall and Safety Harbor in the spring of 2014. Trolley #20 is also in the manufacturing stage, with an anticipated delivery date in mid-February, 2014.
To get the best value out of the trolley system, residents and visitors are encouraged to purchase a pass which allows unlimited rides, including all connections for the day. The pass is interchangeable between both the Jolley Trolley and the PSTA.
