Joyce Yoder Guides Readers Through a Woman’s Life Lessons

Think back as far as you can to your first memory. What comes to your mind? The first thing I can really remember is my mother rocking me when I was about two years old. We had an old rocking chair that had a laminated seat. The laminate had come loose and if you weren’t careful, your legs would get pinched. Mom has had a skin tag on her neck for as long as I can remember. As she rocked me, I picked at and pulled on the skin tag, and she let me!
Yoder is thankful for the opportunities her upbringing provided, and she hopes her book inspires others to write down their own memories and life lessons. "Although circumstances and situations are different, kids of all generations deal with the same feelings of insecurity, wanting to be popular and fit in, etc.," she says. "Life experiences are teachable moments and the lessons stay with us throughout our lives."
