JTB Studios Opens New Office in Footscray, Melbourne’s Emerging Web Design Hub

Get yourself off the beaten track to check out street art by some of the world’s greatest.
A must visit is the indigenous rock art installation at the intersection of Nicholson and Paisley Street. Come on a warm day and the rocks will omit mist when the temperature reaches 25 degrees.
Adding to the local creative and music scene, the highly regarded Big West Festival and Saint Jarome’s Laneway Festival take place in the area each year.
Foodie heaven can be found throughout the suburb. Top picks include the steak at Station Hotel, noodles at Pho Hung Vuong Saigon or curry at Aangan. But it’s not a true visit to without a stop at Olympic Doughnuts for an 80 cent hot jam doughnut.
Investment in architecture and design has resulted in the redevelopment of the Footscray and West Footscray train stations and the refurbished Community Arts Centre. And residential development is booming. Prestigious architects have designed buildings The Buckley, Banbury Village, Riverina Apartments and Victoria Corner. It is predicted the number of dwellings in the area will increase by an average of 438 per year with property prices set to follow that of Fitzroy and Brunswick.
Maribyrnong City Council recently released the Footscray Masterplan. The ambitious plan will improve public spaces, encourage business and housing opportunities, improve accessibility and public transport whilst protecting Footscray’s heritage and cultural diversity.
