Juice It Up! Raises Nearly $12,000 for MDA Families
CYPRESS, Calif., (PRWEB) April 07, 2014 -- The Muscular Dystrophy Association announced today that Juice It Up! raw juice and smoothie bar locations have raised $11,767 during the 2014 Shamrocks mobile program to benefit children and adults affected by muscle disease.
"We are proud to partner with MDA to raise funds for such a worthy cause,” said Juice It Up! Sr. Director of Marketing and Business Development Carol Skinner. “The generosity of our guests and commitment of our team members is truly inspiring and we look forward to providing many more years of support for MDA families."
From mid-February through mid-March, Juice It Up! helped fight back against muscle diseases by selling MDA Shamrocks paper mobiles, which were bought by customers for $1 donations.
“Juice It Up! customers and employees stepped up to help the communities we serve,” said MDA Greater Orange County Executive Director Jessica Bourdeau. “Each donation will directly help the families we serve in our local area. Without the generosity of this community and the help of local business, many of the services MDA provides for families wouldn’t be possible.”
Funds raised will help send area children affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases to MDA summer camp at The Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center.
The program also helps to support MDA’s worldwide research program and national network of 200 medical clinics, including the MDA Clinics at UCI ALS & Neuromuscular Center, Children’s Hospital Orange County and Loma Linda University Medical Center.
