Junebug Weddings Launches 2016 Destination Photography Contest
(PRWEB) July 06, 2016 -- July 6, 2016 marks the day Junebug Weddings’ third annual Best of the Best Destination Photography Contest opens for submissions. The competition will accept engagement, wedding, anniversary, honeymoon, and vow-renewal photography, and will be judged based on the degree to which each photo conveys both the emotions of the couple and the beauty of the location. Junebug Weddings’ 2016 Best of the Best Destination Photography Collection will make its debut on August 29, 2016, featuring 50 of the top destination photos submitted by photographers internationally.
For the past eight years, Junebug has hosted photography competitions. Last year, submissions to Junebug’s annual Best of the Best Destination Photography Contest topped 4,000. 2015’s top 50 images are available here.
Three esteemed destination photographers will assist in judging the contest: Komang Diktat of Diktat Photography, Ekaterina Mukhina of Purlita Photography, and Jim Pollard of Jim Pollard We Are.
“The destination photo contest is such a unique competition. We leave the term “destination” open to interpretation, and because of this we receive creative imagery that pushes the boundaries of modern wedding photography. Our judges for this year’s contest are comprised of three of the industries leading destination photographers. Jim Pollard, Komang Diktat, and Ekaterina Mukhina, travel all around the world capturing the love between couples; their skill and understanding of destination work will be extremely beneficial when curating the winning set of photos for this year’s collection,” says Carrie Crooks, Junebug Weddings General Manager and Editor-in-Chief.
Unlike ordinary wedding photography competitions, the Best of the Best Destination Photography Contest allows photographers to pursue recognition as destination photographers. Junebug looks forward to giving their members and others in the industry an opportunity to promote their destination photography.
