Shelly Lidster is a seventh-grade teacher in the Chicago public school system who believes that access to and familiarity with technology is crucial to enabling success in future academic and professional arenas. Her students only have access to the computer lab one day a week, which is simply not enough to become proficient. Her goal is to obtain six Chromebooks, which would allow her to create enhanced learning stations for all 138 of her students. The laptops would allow kids to conduct research, blog and become familiar with the growing field of technology-based professions.
