Kam Cares Foundation Presents “Bam Bam’s Spring Jam 2015”
Norfolk, Va. (PRWEB) May 21, 2015 -- Kam Cares Foundation — founded by Kam Chancellor of the Seattle Seahawks —will present Bam Bam’s Spring Jam Memorial Weekend Celebration — May 22 and 23 in Norfolk, Va. This community event will feature Chancellor and several recognizable names from the Seattle Seahawks, such as Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Bobby Wagner, and Marshawn Lynch; as well as other NFL stars, track & field Olympians, professional basketball players, and performing artists.
Bam Bam’s Spring Jam serves as the foundation’s largest fundraising event of the year — designed to support its mission to equip children from underserved communities in the Hampton Roads and Seattle areas with educational, health, and wellness tools and resources to improve academic outcomes.
“I am really excited about the growth of Kam Cares Foundation and the progress we’ve made, as far as meeting the needs of children from low socioeconomic backgrounds,” said Chancellor. “I look forward to this event as an opportunity to share the mission of the foundation, but also to connect with my community — the same community that supported me when I faced similar hardships as a child.”
The star-studded weekend will kick off with a Cocktail Reception & Silent Auction on Friday, May 22 — hosted by Bruce Rader of WAVY-TV 10. Guests will enjoy live music by The Fuzz Band, while bidding on authentic autographed memorabilia, concert tickets, artwork and more. Select items are also available for bidding online prior to and during the reception.
The festivities will continue on Saturday, May 23 with the 6th Annual Family and Friends Memorial Day Cookout at Lakewood Park — a free event and community favorite hosted by Shaggy of Z104 — followed by a Celebrity Basketball Game at Maury High School, Chancellor’s alma mater. The game roster includes more than 20 NFL superstars, local media personalities and community leaders.
